Insurance Company Bad Faith, Scams and Rip Offs in Settling Pedestrian, Bicycle, Car and Motorcycle Injury and Wrongful Death Accidents Explained By An Experienced Personal Injury Attorney for the Inland Empire

Insurance Company Bad Faith, Scams and Rip Offs in Settling Pedestrian, Bicycle, Car and Motorcycle Injury and Wrongful Death Accidents Explained By An Experienced Personal Injury Attorney for the Inland Empire

As a Car, Truck, Bicycle, Pedestrian & Motorcycle Injury and Wrongful Death Accident Attorney for the Inland Empire in California one has to ask just how much profit insurance companies need to make to be satisfied. The answer, when one examines the scams, bad faith and rip offs some are perpetrating today in settling personal injury accident and wrongful death claims, it appears that there is no limit to their greed.

When you get into an accident today, whether it’s your fault or someone else’s, either you or the persons you injure as a pedestrian, on a bicycle, in a car or on a motorcycle are likely going to be forced to deal with an insurance company that is determined to offer as little money as possible to settle any injury claims.

If you are the person who has been injured in the bicycle, pedestrian, car or motorcycle accident or if you’ve lost a loved one, the worst thing you can do today is to try to settle your claim with the insurance company yourself. While insurance companies consider lawyers to be annoyances, they consider you to be a nuisance and will usually offer you only what they consider to be a “nuisance value settlement.” Once they have the mind set that your case can be settled for such a paltry amount, an attorney’s involvement will not change matters.

Your insurance company will be offering you or the other driver only a portion of the medical bills and a small amount for pain and suffering. If you or they have an attorney, the attorney will have to prevail on the medical providers to slash their medical bills by 1/3 to one half in order to have sufficient money left over for any attorney fees for their time and effort and the frustration of dealing with an insurance company today and to put any money into your pocket or the pocket of the persons injured in the accident.

If you’ve been seriously injured in an accident, call the Law Offices of R. Sebastian Gibson at (800) 589-3202 or e-mail us at our website, www.SebastianGibsonLaw.com If we are contacted early on in a case, we can prepare your case properly to obtain the settlement you deserve for your injuries.

As badly as insurance companies treat the people they insure, they treat others even worse. Why should you care about the person you’ve injured? First, it’s the right thing to be concerned about someone you hurt. Second, you shouldn’t be causing them to be frustrated again when they have to deal with your insurance company. And third, when your insurance company tries to stiff them by paying them less than the amount of their medical bills and a reasonable amount for pain and suffering, much less any attorneys’ fees so they can have an attorney deal with your insurance company, they risk making the injured party sue you in order to obtain what is fair and reasonable.

As a result of the determination by liability insurance companies to make as much money as they can for their shareholders and executives, the person or persons who have been injured in the accident, whether those persons are the individuals in your vehicle or the other persons hurt by your vehicle, they will, without an experienced attorney, be forced to accept a paltry amount. Their doctor bills or your doctor bills will have to be slashed (of if there is medical insurance, the right of the medical insurance company to reimbursement will have to be significantly reduced) and your lawyer may have to reduce his or her fees as well or face the expensive alternative of filing suit.

The cause of this entire process is nothing short of bad faith and a rip off by certain liability insurers who claim in their advertising to be your best friend and who, when you need them most, or when the person you hit needs them most, turn into greedy monsters who refuse to pay more than a paltry amount and who risk having you sued by any person that you injure.

We’ve been handling personal injury cases for over 30 years and the climate in dealing with insurance companies has never been worse. While we’ve settled cases exceeding one million dollars on a number of occasions, it’s the smaller soft tissue cases where a person has significant pain but doesn’t fracture a bone or require surgery that an extremely experienced attorney can be needed even more to obtain a good settlement. Having previously represented insurance companies, we know how to deal with these companies and have been very successful in obtaining millions and millions of dollars for our clients over the years.

If you want to obtain what you’re entitled to for your personal injury claim in California, call the Law Offices of R. Sebastian Gibson today at (800) 589-3202 or e-mail us at our web site, www.SebastianGibsonLaw.com

SAVE TIME - BE WHERE YOU WANT TO BE!

Oprah once said on her show something to the effect, “There’s a place for everyone.  You need to find that place with the right people where you fit in.”

Easier said then done, right?  It’s true – especially if you are in a particular profession or job which you love but you hate everything surrounding it – the politics, the atmosphere, the policies or even how some people are treated.  So what to do?

What do you like and dislike?  From the list of  your dislikes, what can you tolerate and what would you prefer didn’t exist at all?   What environment would you like to work in?  Define it for yourself.

With this ammunition spelled out in writing – on paper or on a Word document, it’ll set up, in your mind, the situation which would work best for you.  Now that you have that awareness, you’ll be able to spot it when you see it – and it may not come through the usual channels.  This is the same as being in the market for a new car – you research and then decide exactly the car for you – isn’t it amazing how you see that car everywhere when you are aware of what you want?

How does this save time?  A positive environment well suited to you allows for greater productivity and creativity and less time on “forcing yourself” to ignore all the ways a place is not right for you.  Negative thoughts have a way of creeping in because the triggers are all around you whether or not you are conscious of them.  These thoughts waste valuable time and energy not to mention how they affect your overall well-being.

Fridgecar's inevitable destiny and rise

Dear Fridgecarteers,

Was under the mental impression of myself attending the state library to look at Hillkart designs and various monographs, but these goddamn dirty assignments keep cropping up like compo suits in the diary of james hardy.

Structured research disciplines have come back with the following results:

Exploring California in the Fridgecar

This flickr account could verily equate to a window or portent to the future and destiny of fridgecar.  The presence of both a pirate and wizard is particularly accurate as to the probable results of the fridgecar experience.  Never stop not giving up in the world of your life and the life of your fridgecar.  You can be the wind in your own sails, with a bit of strength and personal perseverance.  I believe in you.  And i believe

Always

Peace

Answer to the Chain email

I wanted to thank all my friends and family who have forwarded chain letters to me in 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007 and 2008 and continuing it in 2009 also.
Because of your kindness:
* I stopped drinking Coca Cola after I found out that it’s good for removing toilet stains.
* I stopped going to the movies for fear of sitting on a needle infected with AIDS.
* I smell like a wet dog since I stopped using deodorants because they cause cancer…
* I don’t leave my car in the parking lot or any other place and sometimes I even have to walk about 7 blocks for fear that someone will drug me with a perfume sample and try to rob me.
* I also stopped answering the phone for fear that they may ask me to dial a stupid number and then I get a phone bill with calls to Uganda, Pakistan, Singapore and Tokyo.

* I also stopped drinking anything out of a can for fear that I will get sick from the rat faeces and urine.
* When I go to parties, I don’t look at any girl, no matter how hot she is, for fear that she will take me to a hotel, drug me, then take my kidneys and leave me taking a nap in a bathtub full of ice.
* I also donated all my savings to the Amy Bruce account. A sick girl that was about to die in the hospital about 7,000 times.. (Poor girl! she’s been 7 since 1993…)
* Still open to help somebody from Bulgaria who wants to use my account to transfer his uncle’s property of $ 100 million. So much trustworthy.
* Made some Hundred wishes before forwarding those Ganesh , Tirupathi Balaji pics etc.
Now most of those ‘Wishes’ are already married (to someone else)
IMPORTANT NOTE:
If you do not send this e-mail to at least 11,246 people in the next 10 seconds, a dog will bite you today at 6:30pm.

Nothing has happened till now……..but who knows. So please forward.

1 PicADay Project: Day 72

Disney’s Hollywood Studios might be my favorite park.  They have a lot of antique cars and and period architect in this park and they have some great rides.  We spent quite a bit of time at this park.  The best things to experience in this park are “Lights, Motors,Action” (a car stunt show), “Beauty and the Beast” (30 min live stage show), “Fantasmic” (laser light show) and Rockin Roller Coaster.

I tried to take some photos of things at Disney that are not the usual suspects.  Here’s a photo of  a Cadillac that was parked on “Sunset Blvd” at Disney’s Hollywood Studios park.  I love antique cars and I love the color and angles of this car.

Chinese shopowner shot junkie robber

“The Chinese are constant being molested, the junkie had an axe, so it is good he shot.” “The police should treat the Chinese guy really tough.” Were just two of the contradicting perceptions by bystanders from what had happend on the Karoekondrestraat near Kasabaholo, in Suriname, where yesterday around 15:30 (3:30 p.m.) a shooting incident took place in front of the KSB Supermarket. According to some young locals, a Chinese shopkeeper shot a junkie who is nicknamed Plakoe. They don’t know why the victim was shot. But after the shooting incident the shopkeeper tried to drive away in his car, but he hit a fence and ended up in a ditch.

According to a spokesperson of KPS, Humhrey Naarden, the shopkeeper used a gun which was not registered. And probably that’s the reason why he wanted to drive away. The local police post got a call about a car accident, but once the police arrived, they didn’t just saw a car, but also saw a man who was shot in his leg. He has been hospitalized, but is out of harms way. The shopkeeper threw his gun away, but it was found a little later, and the shopkeeper has been charged with illegal possession of a firearm.

Clarion County Head-On Collision Kills Three

Three people, including a former coach of the Clarion University football team, were killed this week in a head on collision.  According to The Post Gazette, a vehicle operated by Thomas Kerin Jr. crossed over into the westbound lanes of Route 322 and collided with the car occupied by John Reish, Jr., killing Mr. Reish, Thomas Kerin Jr. and his wife, Diana Kerin.

Head on collisions are particularly dangerous because of the combined closing speed between the two vehicles involved.  For more information on car accidents, visit my Beaver County car accident attorney webpage.

More Car Care Blues: Vandalism

Last Saturday night, I went with my movie meetup group to see the cult movie called The Room starring Tommy Wiseau at the Coolidge Corner theater in Brookline. I had a good time seeing the funny, badly acted movie! Couldn’t stop laughing at what I saw.

Trailer for The Room

After the movie, I walked back to my car that was parked a block away from the theater. What I saw was upsetting. The antenna on my Mustang was bent out of shape and the mirror on the passenger side was broken off and hanging by a cable. I couldn’t believe it. Coolidge Corner is supposed to be a safe neighborhood.

I reported it to my insurance company when I got home, and on the next day I drove my car over to the Brookline Police Station on Washington Street. Two policemen looked at my car and figured that a drunk must have viciously done this.

I got my car fixed and got it back on Thursday of this week. I have a brand new antenna and mirror. It cost me almost $145 for them.

I am annoyed that my car was attacked like this. A person demented to do this while drunk to a car can also be violent towards a person. So, this creep is somewhere out there. At least, the police are going to investigate, but this happened late at night on a Saturday. It’s a long shot on finding the person who did this.

No injuries reported in Big Beaver Rollover Accident

The driver of a vehicle that rolled over after a loss of control on Shenango Road has been charged with driving at an unsafe speed.  According to police, the driver lost control on a bend, went over an embankment, and rolled the car on its roof.  Fortunately the driver was not injured.

Driving at excessive speeds can lead to loss of control accidents and at times significant injuries.  The driver in this incident got lucky, he was not injured but there is a significant risk of injury when a vehicle rolls over.  For more information on motor vehicle accidents and injuries, please visit my Beaver County Accident Attorney website.

How To Buy Cheap Cars

There are a more of appropriated car auctions enclosed various places monthly or at least quarterly. Usually, these special auctions are sponsored or put by the federal, state or local governments, and in some cases by law enforcement agencies.

There are a variety of ways on how the seized cars were put to the ownership of the government. The basic and the most orderly reason or explanation would be that these cars were previously owned by bad people, or those who violated laws or broke regulations.

Occasionally, cars sold at government auctions are actually old cars of government offices, which might have bought newer cars to replace the older ones.

People haunt government seized car auctions because they prefer to buy used or second hand cars at bargain prices. Indeed, they do get discounts, but buying seized cars could also be a gamble in itself.

Here are some helpful guidelines or tips on how you could effectively buy seized cars at government auctions.

1. To find such auctions, you should do a bit leg work. Make questions or ask your local government about any auction sale that would fall out. Check over the newspapers for postings and announcements.

2. Do your preparation. Before buying seized cars at government auctions, it would advisable that you first do a bit run down or research about the car you are planning to buy. By this, it means you should define your preferences and needs by knowing exactly the type of car you want and at what price range.

3. Research or ask experts about the appraise of the car you are eyeing at the government auction to decide whether the tag cost is reasonable. Also try to know the seized vehicle’s vehicle identification number or VIN and the mileage. The auction’s executives should know more about these facts and should promptly give them to you.

4. Most of the seized car auctions run a preview of the seized cars for sale at least two days before the actual auction. This is the time when you are able to get really close to fully inspecting the vehicle.

5. Once buying seized cars at government auctions, inspect the car very carefully. If you are not that familiar or if you are not really an expert in sizing up and eye-testing used cars, try to bring in an expert or a car-mechanic at the auction. By doing so, the inspection would be exact and you can make sure the price you would be paying, if ever you win the bidding process, is worth it.

6. Government auctions are still auctions. That means, people go there and bid against each other. If you want a seized car seriously, chances are, there are also other people out there who also want the car so badly that they are willing to bid higher to make sure they get what they want. In cases like that, do not overbid. You might end up buying overpriced used car. That wouldn’t be really practical.

7. Prices for seized cars sold at government auctions vary and vary from time to time depending on the presently winning bid. Maintain your focus, and eye for other cars, if your initially preferred car would be a little overpriced.

Overall, government auctions for seized cars are attractive and practical events help people acquire cars at discounted and practical prices. Just make sure you keep your head focused and thinking analytically while being immersed in the process.

Butterfly Enthusiasts - Sunday Family Outing

Lauren with butterfly friend

 Wildseed Farm

Continuing with the whole butterfly theme, we had a much more pleasant experience with them once we reached our destination outside of Fredericksburg, TX.  If you haven’t been to Wildseed Farms, http://www.wildseedfarms.com/index.html , about 7 miles east of Fredericksburg on Hwy 290, I highly suggest it.  It’s an enchanting family outing in the Texas hill country set amongst wildflowers, beautiful landscaped gardens, a great gift shop, speciality foods, and butterflies!  They have a butterfly “haus” (get it?  It’s near a historic Texas German town…you see a lot of that spelling for “house” around Fredericksburg).  Inside the haus is a butterfly garden paradise, definitely worth the price of admission.  There are at least a dozen species and so many of them that it’s like a dazzling firework display in slow motion (fortunately, none of them explode).  All those tiny colorful wings just fluttering everywhere, it is truly breathtaking.  There are docents inside that enjoy sharing information about their small captives; thereby enhancing the educational visit.

During our walk among the Wildseed Farm “trial plots” we discovered the most butterfly prolific plant – the Blue Mist Flower.  No where else on the grounds did we see more Monarch butterflies buzzing about them among those.  It is really no more than a weed, but butterflies just love it!  We’ll be looking for that plant in the springtime.

Wildseed Farms claim they are the largest working wildflower farm in the U.S, with 200 acres at their headquarters, and another 800 acres in Eagle Lake.  Although our visit did not coincide with their wildflowers blooming in full season, it was well compensated with manicured wildflower landscaping.  We visited on October 18, during the Monarch Butterfly Celebration, held in conjunction with the University of Kansas project known as “Monarch Watch.”  We participated in the tagging of a monarch and watched them being released.

We learned a few things from the Monarch Watch (http://monarchwatch.org/biology/cycle1.htm) representatives .  Not all monarchs migrate.  There are genetically different species.  The “summer generation”  just have the usual life span of a couple of 2 – 5 weeks.  While the “final generation” live about 8-9 months.   What determines the change has something to do with the temperature in which they are born.  In addition we found out how the butterfly’s sex is determined – see below:

Monarch Watch had a give-away drawing in which our youngest, Lauren, had her name selected.  She choose a butterfly guide book, which she proudly took to school on Monday to show her 2nd grade class.  Her faced beamed when they called her name.  There’s nothing like watching the thrill on a child’s face when they feel special: eyes light up and a permanent grin remains long after the moment is gone – a glow remains for hours.

LBJ Memorial Park

After our 3 hour excursion at the wildflower farm, we continued our family outing at LBJ Memorial Park (http://www.tpwd.state.tx.us/ class=”hiddenSpellError” pre=”">spdest/findadest/parks/lyndon_b_johnson/)  , just a few more miles east on 290.  We enjoyed a hamburger cookout with two neighboring Longhorns and a few flies.  Our oldest announced that it is much more fun to eat indoors away from the outdoor pests–Miss Wilderness USA, she is not.  We attempted to cook out over a grill with some mesquite wood we had, however, the fire did not come in time, so we cooked it with a propane cook stove.  Finally, after an hour, the fire was going and we roasted all of 4 marshmallows because we ate too much and Charley forgot the graham crackers for the s’mores.  Although he may claim that it was my fault for placing the graham crackers in the pantry, rather than leaving them in the shopping bag with the rest of the cook-out food.  We debated that one for a while until we both agreed that no one is completely to blame (although I still think it’s HIS fault).

After stuffing ourselves we visited The Sauer-Beckmann Farm – Rural Life, 1900-1918, just a walk over from our picnic site.  It was like we stepped back in time, visiting our country “neighbors.”  The setting is as real as they could make it.  There are staff and volunteers dressed in

Working the farm

period outfits and just working the farm like it were yesteryear.  Life was all about surviving; they had to make everything they needed to live.  The experience increased our appreciation of how much easier it is to live with our modern appliances and easy cooking.  In a minor way it reminded me of Charley and my Peace Corps experiences where we had to wash clothes by hand and prepare food from scratch.

Have you ever seen grapevines in Texas wrapped around  a live oak tree?  It’s Texas’ answer to Tarzan in the jungle.  Those vines are so strong they support a good deal of weight, they really more like a tree than a vine.  If live oaks weren’t so strong there’s no way they could survive the vice-like grip of the vine.  The girls and myself tested the strength of those vines as our last endeavor for our trip.  We had a great time monkeying around.

All in all our Sunday journey to a part of the Texas hill country was full of fun, laughter, new experiences and learning.  Welcomed sleep was the last of our experience when we arrived back to our comfortable home.

Carrrrawwwrr

There are few cars i would like to have but now i only want one, the lucky one, who will be my baby. Oh boy, wait for mama to be ready ;P

Picking a car is not easy. Honestly, it is easier to pick a shoes than a car for me (perhaps it is because the money factor ). BTW I bought a shoes (doesn’t ’shoes’ ought to be plural? then why am i using ‘a’?) yesterday. Here, take a look:

just kulkith

A fusion of modern & traditional, what do you think? (click on the image if you want to know more)

Back to car, once i was in love with vans (not a brand, it is a type of cars) but then i realized that driving a van is a hardwork and i am not that kind of person. I need something that…represent me. Finally after years of searching, I found him…

no it's not mine, yet

Ta-daah! Yes it is Honda Civic Nova-The Great. Ouah this car is so me! I do not care about the colour as long this car works. He is amazing or what, with two doors, small yet wonderful design, it is definitely the type of city car that young folks loved!

One day, Supernova (or Super, for short) and I will have a long-fantastic-unforgetable journey together. Just the two of us : ]

*thanks for Lusi for the inspiration : D

Saint or Satan

My aunt seldom works late at night and she sometimes had to drive back home alone. Her husband always told her to be careful. He told her to stop only at gas stations and nowhere else since it was so dangerous.

Well, my aunt did follow her husband’s advice. She ran out of petrol; therefore, she stopped at the gas station to fill her gas. After that, she left the station and was driving on a dark and lonely road before she regconized something.

There was car chasing after her.

She looked nervously at the car. She saw the driver waving his hand, telling her pull over. Do you think she will do that? Of course not! That made her go even faster.

After driving away from the mysterious car for a while, my aunt noticed that something was wrong with her car. It was getting harder and harder to drive. So, she had no choice but to pull over.

After getting out of the car, my aunt found the answer. One of her tires was flat. She could get into a terrible accident if the young man in the chasing car hadn’t signaled her.

The young man was actually a good man. This was my aunt’s thought. She was so sorry for thinking so badly of him.

The young man pulled over right behind my aunt’s car. He said he was a mechanic, he had some tools in his car, and he would like to help with the tire, if my aunt allowed him to do so.

My aunt accepted his offer. She said there was a spare tire in her trunk but she did not know how to change tires.

As my aunt watched, the young man worked tirelessly, sweating all over his body. He got the flat tire out  and he tried to replace it with the spare tire; however, there was a problem.

The young man told my aunt that he needed some more tools. My aunt gave him some cash. Well, it was not some cash. It was some big cash. The young man also gave my aunt his wallet as an insurance that he would return. After that, he got in his car and drove away.

My aunt watched the young man as he drove away. She thanked god that she met him before she would get into any kind of accident. She wanted to thank him after he came back and finished his work; however, she did not get the chance to do that.

My aunt opened the man’s wallet and there was nothing there. It was just an empty wallet! She had been fooled. It was all a setup! That young man flattened her tire in the gas station and followed her! Now, he was gone and my aunt could not follow him!

Why?

A car with 3 tires cannot be driven, can it?

Car Aflame

Aflame! Sorry but I do not mean an excited car out here. lol.

I witnessed a car burning in flames last night when going to meet a friend. It was just about 200 meters from the car when I, riding on my motor cycle, was signaled by a medium built guy to stop. At first I thought it might be another mugger as it was already about 10 pm and there are rarely any people on that road. But I slowed down and the guy screamed out not to go ahead as there is a car burning, fearing it might burst at any moment. I stopped and watched the blaze. It was mainly in the bonnet while some streaks of fire could be seen at the bottom of the car as well. For a moment I watched how serious it was. Was it by some miscreants or was it an accident? There were a host of other people and vehicles lined up at a safe distance while further frantic calls were being made by the same guy who signaled at me to stop other approaching vehicles. After a while I started at full throttle, wore my helmet and raced past the blazing car. At the same time when I was starting, a mini fire truck wailed beside me and parked just crossing the car. As I reached a possibly safe distance, I could imagine a sigh of relief in the watching small group.

I returned back through the same road after some time and could see that the situation was back to normal. This time again, I stopped and walked near the vehicle to have a look at the damage. There were some 6-7 people with the car this time, 2-3 of them discussing possibly about the dealer of the car, damage compensation etc. On asking one guy standing beside, he told me that the engine just caught fire, possibly overheating or some electrical glitch somewhere.

The car was a brand new Tata Indica GLS. This was a live sight I had witnessed after reading stories of 3 such car fires in the local newspapers in last 2 months.

CAR Expo 2009

Wanted to Thank all of you who took the time to drop by and say Hi to us at Booth #1122 at this year’s CAR Expo. We had a whole lot of fun connecting with our current clients such as JR of JR Rouse in Monterey, Ca and Ryan Iwanaga of Sereno Group – as well as meeting new Realtors and companies who were excited about our services.

We also wanted to express our gratitude to MLS Listings for contracting us to re-develop the public end of MLSListings.com. If you’ve visited it lately you would have seen their new interface, if you scrolled to the bottom of the page you would have seen it’s not powered by our e-Agents.com technology. We hope to work together hand in hand and continue to produce awesome products for the rest of you.

Thank you,

Wallace

A New Car

Well the time came, my Audi finally had more problems than solutions and so here we are having agreed a trade-in for a 2005 Ford Focus II 1.6 Ghia Saloon. Not the estate I was hoping for but a very nice car indeed, and a chance find too, one that saw us get around £1000 more for my car than I thought I would. Great considering it was going to fail it’s MOT rather spectacularly! Still can’t believe they didn’t even inspect it!

Now I just can’t wait till Friday, getting serviced and MOT’d today and then swap over on my first day off! Have to get a photo up then.

i hate crucks. they look like aliens.

I have a serious issue with cars.

Well, with selecting a car I am willing to be seen driving in. I actually don’t have any problems with any cars…unless you tell me I must drive it.

At that point, I become overly critical…and bitchy.

I happen to love my car, except…it’s getting to the point where  I have to start looking Tim has to find ANOTHER one for me. All the Atlanta driving and the ten thousand trips to Cape Canaveral to try and see a damn space ship led to the miles racking up…and pieces are now breaking and replacements are becoming necessary…basically, it’s getting more expensive to keep it than it would be to have a car payment.

So, Tim’s been showing me cars…and let’s just say it isn’t exactly going so well. Actually, I think Tim is ready to beat his own head against a concrete wall…cause it’d be less painful than our current car-searching experience.

Tim: What about this one?

Me: The back looks like an alien. No.

Tim: Ok…this one?

Me: Does it even HAVE a bumper? It looks like they just stopped at the trunk. And what’s with the hood? It’s like, as long as the entire car…with no bumper…it’s all disproportionate. Who designs these things? I could design a better car.

Tim: The bumper is RIGHT THERE…and the hood looks long because the angle of the picture.

Me: I don’t see it…plus, you know, now that I look at it, the hood is all sloped.

Tim: They don’t “slope” hoods, it’s just the angle of the picture…

Me: I don’t think so…I think it’s the car…AND the windows are too skinny…

Tim: FINE…you don’t like it….how about THIS ONE?

Me: That is like, ALL BUMPER…and it’s ugly…and the headlights make it look like a snake. And I hate snakes. I’m not driving a snake.

Tim: Holy hell, woman…

Me: Leave me alone. I just know what I like.

Tim: Nothing. The answer is nothing. You don’t LIKE anything.

Me: I like my car…and your car.

Tim: Obviously, those don’t exactly count right now…

Me: Well, then you just haven’t shown me a good one yet.

Tim: This one?

Me: The side looks fine…how about the inside?

Me: Nevermind. I’m not driving a Roger Rabbit car.

Tim: !#$!#@ Where, exactly, do you see ROGER RABBIT?

Me: I don’t SEE him, the inside just looks all cartoonish…and goofy.

Tim: YOU. ARE. IMPOSSIBLE.

Me: No, I’m just picky…I know what I like.

Tim: I showed you THE CAR YOU ARE CURRENTLY DRIVING SEVENTEEN TIMES and you said you didn’t like it…you only liked it when we actually went and SAW IT IN PERSON.

Me: That’s because you never showed me MY EXACT CAR. NO ONE HAS MY CAR…except me.

Tim: It was close enough.

Me: No. The Mazda 3 is not close AT ALL to my car. It is nowhere NEAR my car…it doesn’t even LOOK THE SAME as my car.

(I have a Mazda 3, SP 2.3…and we have never, ever  seen another one…EVER)

Tim: Nevermind…how about this?

Me: The lights are too bubbly…and the funky back window plus the bubbly lights make it look like one of those Japanese cartoon characters.

Tim: WHAT. THE. HELL. It’s a CAR.

Me: It’s an advertisement to watch cartoons…plus it looks like a cruck…and I HATE CRUCKS.

(a “cruck” is a vehicle that looks like a car-truck…too big to be a car…too small to be a truck…with the worst elements of both).

Me: How about we don’t play this game anymore?

Tim: How about we actually go and LOOK at the cars?

Me: What if I still don’t like them?

Tim: Then you can drive a bicycle.

Headphones, Sony in particular

I have been a loyal Sony headphone user for ~15 years. I started with the compact, foldable ones because my toolbox space was precious. In the last 10 years or so, I have had 5 pairs of the typical Sony headphones – MDR 7506. Two were stolen- one when the trailer was broken into on tour and my toolbox taken, one right off of the FOH console after a New Years Eve 2001 gig. The other three have failed in exactly the same way. The right earpiece stops working. This is cool,at that time eonon’s car dvd system also get me high.

Anyone very familiar with these headphones know that the design flaw in these headphones is how the wire gets pinched in the folding bits of the headphones when put away for storage. I will watch car videos online. All three of my ‘dead’ headphones shows wear through the jacket at some point exposing signal wires within. After the first time this happened, I sized the headphones on my head and then taped the wires in place in hopes of avoiding the loose wire pinch problem and still have exprerienced this problem. I have taken two of the headphones apart to determine if the mechanical stress of opening and closing them once a day for a year or two has stressed the internal connections and I cannot find a failure. The drivers show continuity. Any reason I should keep buying Sony?

Havoc in the countryside..

A few weeks ago we had a call from Sir James Wallace asking us if we would be happy to attend a megameet day he was organising with the HAVOC guys in aid if the MS society.. Basicly get a bunch of cars together on a farm and the proceeds of the day being donated!

Naturally we jumped at the chance and soon rustled a few cars together to make the shortish 50 odd mile drive into the countryside… Ok so this wasn’t without it fun and frolics on the way.. Basically everyone who says lowered cars can’t drive fast on country B roads is……. well basically correct!

FIrst off we had to navigate some of the worst UK roads i have ever seen…

Which as predicted turned into this! *Happy Birthday Lewis!*

Once arrived a man down at the show LATE we were greeted with a great array of cars, albiet a little smaller than we had hoped the atmosphere was great considering the weather that had been delt us for the day. Nick’s coffee, cheap food, Great people, Great cars and some sketchy music! What more could you want on an october sunday!

What more could you want?? Well a prize of course! (Thats actually a joke before we get hated on all over again!) But heh guess what we did win one and what better for the Scene protaganists Audi to win but “BEST STANCE”! To the stage Mr Bennett! “Do you think you can make it onto the stage to collect your prize?” Humm ill give it a bloody good go!

Up and over Safe and sound and even left the guys with a few scuff’s as a momento on the downward slope!

Last stop of the day before home time!

I would like to say a HUGE thanks to all the guys who went to the effort of putting this meet on today and we will definatly be back with our full support again next year! We will even try and be their earlier!

Thank you!

It’s an old car adage, because there are so many used cars, and so many people looking for one. But it is something that you can use for your business, no matter what what you sell. There are tons of people looking for what you sale, they just don’t know you are selling it. Marketing and advertising is key. But do you go and buy supplies for something that you make yourself? Does your supplier know what you make? Is it something that they, their friends or family would buy? Do you have business cards for your company? Do you hand them out all day long? Do you leave them with your tip when you go out and eat? Remember everyone is a potential customer, so advertise your business all day everyday and to everyone you come into contact with.

New Car 2.0

Be still my beating heart!  I do believe we are finally done with the car saga.  The dealership agreed to take the car back and get us in something for the same price, problem is we are still rebuilding credit from my divorce so our scores aren’t stellar and the bank gave strict guidelines for what kind of car we could be in.  It worked in our favor and we actually ended up getting a much better car than we had before.  Instead of the Suzuki (I’ll never buy another one) we now own a Grey 2005 Chevy Impala.  Thanks to all your prayers, this has been quite the ordeal and I’m so thankful for our sales guy and the dealership sticking it out and taking the lemon car back when they legally didn’t have to.  Sadly they lost money after all is said and done but they have gained us as customers for life!

This week my new phone also came and so far no problems with calling or anything.  The dumb thing is Jeremy has been using the other one and he hasn’t had problems with it at all!  Guess it was something specific to my number?  I’ve enjoyed the camera on it since it’s a little better than the old phone.

How I found him one morning!

Happy and cuddling

On Thursday night the girls from school threw me a baby shower.  It was so fun to see them all and they really spoiled baby Gwen!  JD keeps trying to play with the pink rattles, it is cracking me up.  It’s going to be quite a shock for him when she comes and he has to share.  Thanks again ladies for the party, it was awesome.  I didn’t take any pictures and I haven’t gotten a chance to get them off my sister’s camera but I do have one picture of the spectacular diaper cake that they made for me!   It’s quite the work of art.  Mom and Trish made me an ABC’s book from some hand puppets I made when I was 5 years old.  It’s amazing and JD already loves looking through it.  It will be treasured for a long time!

While it’s been a very stressful week, everything has turned out amazing.  We are feeling very blessed!

a lot on my mind

been in a fairly good mood lately despite the craziness. suppose ii should start with the not so good things first nd then go from there::

first not so good thing:: since ii have been working NON STOP for the past FOUR WEEKS ii have slipped majorly in the health area of my life. now ii must try nd play catch up which means that ill be having doctors appts like every other day for no reason at all. nd you all know how much ii despise doctors.

second not so good thing:: ii lost someone very very special to me on yesterday. no he didnt die, but he’s dead to me. havent cried or shed any tears. not even upset or angry bout it. just rolling with the punches nd hoping that GoD would have mercy on him nd grant him favor. thats the only thing ii can ask for right now.

third not so good thing:: IM BROKE!!!

first great thing:: ii just brought a car!! hence the reason for the third not so good thing .lol. well actually broke to me means that ii dont have money to go out shopping for new sneakers every week. now ii wish ii woulda got those shoes three weeks ago instead of waiting. ugh. lol. but yess ii have a new baby without a name. 2oo9 toyota corolla nd SEXY if ii might say so myself.

second great thing:: dont keep ya fingers crossed on this one because my unit usually does things on their own time .BUT. ya girl was selected to go to Culinary Institute of America in January. yess, this is one of the BEST culinary schools that there is nd im soo excited to go. knowing my command ii wont go til this time next yr but .whatever. whenever they say go ill go .lol.

third great thing:: GoD is going a SERIOUS workk in me. this was truly going to go under the not so good things because to be honest… ii dont like this process at all. of course its a good thing but its one of the most uncomfortable things that ive had to go thru in a long time. ND IT DOESNT STOP!!! but im continuing to be submissive nd allow HiM to do whatever He needs to do in me so that He might workk thru me. even in my stubborn fits nd hard.headed ways im still standing firm nd TRYING to do everything that ii can to stay fokused nd on this straight nd narrow path… yall pray for me.

Latest cars

Hello friends, today we are going to discuss about the latest cars. there are many Econo Drivers and lots of Safe Drivers which is sponsored by Lemur which is wireless vehicle that monitors all the records by their driving performance to have a key display to help drivers to become more efficient and safe.

EconoDriver in packageThe EconoDriver and its siblings are a simple, if not a bit goofy, way to monitor fuel economy and driver safety.

Lots of  SafeDriver displays the maximum speed of the vehicle, distance traveled, and sudden braking incidents to help parents keep tabs on new drivers. The device locks with a PIN to keep misguided youths from simply clearing the memory after a crazy night out. Meanwhile, the EconoDriver displays average and instant fuel economy, and a green rating. After plugging in a fuel cost, the EconoDriver can also display cost per trip and, if you’re feeling particularly masochistic, the cost of fuel wasted by inefficient driving.

Platypus Amphibious Jeep

While searching the webs for a suitable platypus picture to be used in the last post I stumbled upon this odd-looking creation…not the type of platypus I was looking for but indeed a very good subject for another post, that’s this one then!

We have seen a good number of floating cars and busses here on the site and all of them were not really pleasing to the eye…to say the least…and this one is no exemption.

Picture via www.boatcar.net

I especially like the little oars on both sides of the vehicle…like you can do something with them when a car/boat of 2 tons (!) has lost its propulsion. Good Luck mate!

The company also has other amphibious vehicles, all looking a bit odd and defenitely ugly!

Babies, babies, babies

Babies, babies, babies, that’s all this blog has turned into. Nothing but photos and chat about Colin, the wee man’s taking over everything! As a result I’ve decided to post about something completely unrelated and far more interesting; cars.

We’ve got a new car. I traded in the Clio last week, getting a cracking price for it from a garage in Leith. My dad and I spent most of the day trekking round garages in Fife and Edinburgh looking at ’sensible’ family cars and eventually stumbled upon the car I’ve ended up with. I’ve not got round to going out and taking a photo of it, but have tracked down a photo on the net that is the same model:

It’s a Mondeo TDCI 130 Sport. It’s a standard family car with a twist; the twist being the fact that it drives great, ain’t slow, has all the toys I could want (A/C, cruise control, steering wheel audio controls etc) and has the coolest parking sensor ever. The sensor doesn’t just beep like normal ones do, it tells you the distance between you and the car behind! Awesome, seriously awesome.

Right who am I kidding. Cars are fine, but nowhere near as cool as the wee dude. I thought I could get through a post without mentioning him and putting some photos in, but I was wrong.

Car Cake - guess who's not the next ace of cakes

Hilarious!  so my brother’s birthday is today. 3 or 4 years ago i made him a car cake of his old white hatchback Volkswagen. i made it in the shape of a car, and decorated it with icing.. pretty easy. this year, i got it in my head to make him a car cake of his new car…. and try out fondant. oh man. i don’t know if i’m going to be doing this again…

car cake

i dyed the fondant properly, rolled it out, lay and fit it on the cake. i messed up some of the corners. then i started working on the other parts. i didn’t like how it looked with the other fondant pieces, scratched that..took them off. decided to paint on the details. next time i just need to plan more and not be lazy… and all i can think about is cake wrecks. hahaha

Luckily, this is not my day job… and my brother really liked the cake. but then again. he is my brother. i would love anything he made for me. =)

10/2 vs CAR

The Flyers are on pace to get 164 points. Ray Emery may never give up a goal for the Flyers. Jeff Carter is on pace to have the most goals since Brett Hull. The Flyers are on pace to kill a thousand penalties, but that’s not going to surprise anyone. I vote for starting every season like this.

Kimmo Timonen will get the reputation he deserves in about 2 months. He’s constantly being referred to as “The Underrated Kimmo Timonen”. Usually this sort of thing gets overdone and he’ll be overrated soon after. If he keeps playing defense like he did tonight though, that won’t be possible. He was the best player on the ice.

One comment on the offseason: good job by Holmgren getting Betts to sign for $515K. He fits the Flyers like a puzzle piece, because he can win faceoffs and kill penalties. Still, his agent was barely able to get more than the minimum. The comment to the media that the deal wouldn’t happen if it isn’t done by yesterday (Thursday) seemed to do the trick.

Rundown:

  • Ryan Parent is a rock. Carolina players lined him a couple of times and bounced off him. He’s going to need a nickname if this keeps up.
  • Coburn carried the puck well.
  • Carcillo took two penalties to start the season, then drew one against Rod Brind’Amour, then was quiet.
  • Tim Gleason is a pretty good defenseman. Good for him for standing up to Carcillo, too, even though he negated a power play and took his team’s best defenseman off the ice for 10 minutes.

Is General Motors on its Way Back to Being the No. 1 Car Maker this Year?

General Motors has been in extremely hot political water since the auto industry bailout from late last year. Prior to that, GM had faced a lot of economic, management and political challenges that one wondered how in the world it ever survived and thrived. For years, it has dominated the car industry with the massive demands and production of its line of iconic muscle cars. The entertainment industry has also played a huge role in ensuring the success of the all-American machine.

In the past couple of years, however, we saw how the mighty had fallen. Not that GM fell completely out of the scene, it merely slid down to the No. 2 spot as the world’s largest car maker. And who now holds its former glory? Not some royal European machine, but a once-lowly industrial brand from Japan, now transformed into the industry giant that is now known as Toyota.

Based on the 2008 ranking on the Fortune 500, Toyota is No. 1 in global unit sales. That says a lot about a company that once manufactured utterly unreliable cars, but now leads the way in pushing hybrid cars to the market. They were in fact one of the first brands to mass-produce and sell such cars. Today, with Toyota’s strong worldwide presence, innovative strategies and strong brand recognition, other car manufacturers, including General Motors, are finding it hard to keep up with Toyota’s pace.

So, will General Motors be able to reclaim its title as the “World’s Largest Automaker” this year? (It certainly is not the largest car maker anymore, but it sure still manufactures the largest cars in the world, and they are not that far behind Toyota.)

Our Predicto voters have spoken. 46% say yes, 54% say no so far. “Usertrlb4180” asserts that the government shouldn’t be the one to make GM get back its former glory, the people should. Well, if GM makes more eco-friendly cars and keep up with the way people have grown so accustomed to compact Japanese cars, maybe they will regain their spot soon enough. But as one of the voters aptly put it, “GM had their time. It’s time for another automaker to have theirs.”

With GM’s fresh funds from the government, it could now be up to something that could make everyone’s jaws drop. Before we know it, the company could be rolling out better cars that could give other automakers a run for their money.

Who else says GM will be No. 1 again this year? Who else says no, they won’t? Let us know what you think by visiting Predicto.com and voting (and leaving comments) on this survey.
